Prolonged exposure to rain can cause water infiltration into the pavement, weakening the binder and leading to initial signs of wear, such as minor cracks and potholes. The island’s steep slopes and limited drainage make hydroplaning, landslides, and standing water common. Road friction safety is essential for preventing accidents caused by poor tire grip on road surfaces. Increasing friction (micro- and macro-texture) between tires and the road helps vehicles stop faster and maintain better control.
